Why
do I need to submit my website to Directories?
Directories remain
one of the best ways to promote your website
and services. Each directory that your website
is submitted and accepted to will provide
a keyword or phrase known as an 'anchor link'
and a short description linking back to your
website. This in turn is seen by the search
engines such as Google as a one way 'incoming
link' back to your website and will go some
way as to boosting your websites popularity.
As there are thousands of general directories
and many more niche specialist directories,
we make sure your website is manually submitted
only to the most relevant directories to your
websites market and services. e.g. if your
website is about car insurance, we will submit
it to the most relevant general category such
as automotive and then any secondary sub categories
such as insurance so that the links coming
back to your site are naturally suitable.
What do I need to provide you with to submit
my website to search engines?
With our directory submission
service we suggest that you provide up to 3
different unique anchor link titles so that
search engines are not seeing the same link
and description over and over again. For example
lets say your website sells pet products, you
might want to give up to 3 different link titles
such as 'purrfect pet supplys', 'pet products
online', 'pet pampering gifts' etc. If you make
sure these titles contain chosen key phrases
that are not too broad a description then your
website is going to be found more highly under
these search terms. We will also need to know
which category and in some cases sub category
your website would best be found under.
I have heard that having a link from some
directories can actually harm my websites
popularity, is this true?
It's true that some directories
that have been black listed from Google will
not provide any positive boost from any links
to your website and in some cases may end up
harming your website by association. All the
directories in our list are reviewed regularly
and are selected based on relevance and reliability.
All also offer one way links to your website
so no reciprocal links back are needed.
