 Why
do I need to submit my website to Search Engines?
It goes without saying
that unless your website is indexed on the
major search Engines such as Google, Yahoo
and Bing (Formely MSN) then you may as well
give up and go home. But even if your website
is indexed on the big 3 there are at least
another 200 major search engines used widely
such as Alexa, AOL, Exactseek and Netscape
to name but a few. Getting indexed on these
additional major search engines is a good
place to start with any new website marketing
campaign. The good news is that this really
only ever needs to be done once. Some underhand
SEO companies will attempt to convince you
it's a good idea to resubmit your website
on a regular monthly basis (for a fee naturally)
but this isn't something that we would advise.
Once your website is indexed, so long as its
still online then its still going to remain
indexed.
What do I need to provide you with to submit
my website to search engines?
Most search engines will
be able to take the relevant information from
your website, including page title, description
and any keywords (meta tags) so all that is needed for registering is the domain name and an email address for confirmation. We will set up an email address on your behalf and confirm registrations when the submissions are made.
I have seen some websites offering 1000's
of free search engine website submissions,
why can't I use them instead?
Feel free, although remember
that very often you will be signed up to spam
email lists and in some cases may be harming
your website and risk getting penalised or banned
by Google by submitting to Free For All (FFA)
sites which are not looked favourably upon.
We only submit to high quality search engines
that are going to benefit your website. |
